Profile and Area of Focus
Donsol, a worldwide tourist destination, is a 3rd class municipality of Sorsogon Province. This coastal town is made up of 51 barangays, 13 of which are located along the coastline. It is dominantly an agricultural town with crop production and fishing as major agricultural activities. Small-scale industries are agro-industrial in nature, such as piggery and poultry in the rural areas and the manufacture of pili nut candies and tinapa or smoked fish in the urban areas.
But it is the regular visits of the gentle Butanding that brings in the largest share of income of Donsol. And as such, the development of ecotourism tops the municipality’s list of development projects.

Committed to promote the welfare of its people by becoming the premier tourist destination in Bicol, Donsol will organize data and information on tourism to develop tools for local policies and programs to push forward economic development and foster a safe environment for its people. It will improve its tourism potentials and be mindful of the sustainability of its natural resources.
Through data-driven initiatives, Donsol will ensure effective delivery of basic services and enhancement of people’s participation. These will be achieved by continuing to improve its partnership with CSOs and the private sector.
